I Don't Care For Any Fine Attire
September 17, 2003, 10:42 p.m. Retail therapy today. Spent exorbitant amounts of money on new jeans, new black pants, and two new tops (blue and white). Also went hunting for a black and white striped shirt for under thirty dollars – no chocolate, Charlie. It was fun – Eledhwen and I blew off our history lecture, and induced the Singing Budgie to join us. Three sub-5’4’’ girls dancing around changing rooms in small small clothes. Scary! Tonight I filled out forms for an ING Direct Savings Maximiser account – which I have called Lucre, which is much easier to say than ING Direct Savings Maximiser (I wanted to call it Filthy Lucre, but it wouldn’t fit in the boxes). My father is very proud of me, taking care of my finances. I’m afraid I just feel rather boring : ) But I’m sure when I’m eighty, I’ll be glad of it. I remember reading Anne of the Island, and that being L. M. Montgomery’s advice to young girls – always do what you would wish you had done when you are eighty. Sound advice : ) Chicago came out on DVD today. I nearly had a conniption, seeing it in K-Mart . . . but I must abstain – I have too many essays due in to waste time on DVDs . . . plus Eledhwen can probably get it cheap for me at Big-W, so I shall wait for that. Despite the many essays due in, against all my better judgement, Eledhwen has convinced me to go to a party on Saturday night . . . I really shouldn't, but she promised me sexy boys. How can I turn down that? I also felt like getting some sexy underwear today, but in the end couldn’t find anything that really screamed “make me yours!”. I like frilly, lacy underwear, especially stuff that looks girly and demure (although I am partial to hot pink). The Singing Budgie raised the complaint that you couldn’t really wear that stuff under clothes, but I suppose it’s not designed to be worn beneath anything, just to be worn. I also supposed that my underwear tastes suggest something about my sexual style, which I think I would generally classify as “scared” – very demure and girly. And on that note, I think I will conclude. I have an essay on the printing press due in on Friday that I’d like to finish before then, because I have an essay on Thomas Aquinas due in the Friday after that. Blah.
