You Wish to Celebrate It?
February 04, 2004, 12:24 a.m. Dance of Death was brilliant. The acting was brilliant, the script was brilliant, the lighting and sound were brilliant, the set! Oh the set was magnificent! Oh you have to see this play. I hated everyone in it who had more than two lines speaking, but that’s what made it so fantastic. Whatever love had once existed between the two main characters had now evolved into a hatred so malevolent that it was set to consume its two players, yet they needed it simply to define their existence. Two more wretched creatures I’ve never seen, and they were doomed to bind anyone else they came in contact with to their misery as well. God it was good. Did I mention the set? It was this tower, that had once been a prison, and it was perfect. The perfect setting, practically suffocating and oppressingly emblematic. It had rust stains on the inside! It was brilliant. I am no theatre critic, so I will end my praise here, with this thought: I really need to see more theatre. (PS Does anyone know why Google is covered in fractals today?)
