There's Jam in the Bathtub!
June 25, 2004, 10:25 p.m. I am feeling . . . irritated. My room is an absolute mess and my light is blown. Herein lies a problem – for I have to clean up the room so there will be space to bring in the ladder to change the light bulb, but how can I clean up the room until I change the light and can then see what I’m doing? Such a predicament! I also really, really need to put on a load of washing, but I keep forgetting to do it. And my room is all dark and the clothes are everywhere because mess just breeds mess and ugh. I have problems with my clothes. I want them to look nice but I never put in the effort to make them look nice. I like to delude myself that I don’t care about clothes, and don’t have that many, so consequently my wardrobe is spilling over with clothes, all unfolded. I bought a whole bunch of archive boxes to ‘organise’ things, but of course they’re just plain white Officeworks boxes. So today I bought a whole bunch of wrapping paper, very expensive wrapping paper from Newtown, to decorate them with. But now they’re just sitting in a half-empty washing basket. I can’t really decorate the boxes until the room is clean. Anyway. The Stray Texan isn’t going to be a Stray Texan come Sunday, returning as she is to Texas. So I am going to the airport on Sunday to see her off and help her with her bags on the evilness of CityRail. For some reason, I promised to be at her house at 8:30 in the morning. I have to write her and Sif lovely letters soon too. I should be doing that, instead of this. And at some point I have to talk to the Elf-boy about his manuscript, because I lost a whole lot of editing, and I also have to see Super Size Me with Sixten and Ramona, and Prisoner of Azkaban with Melodrama. Who knew holidays would be so stressful?
